Mid Season Finale - The Duel

Tsuma, 1019. On a cold spring night.

Doji Satsume, The Emerald Champion, was known as The Grinning Crane. He once was with The Emperor's Guard and, during a ninja incursion, he got a scar that goes from his left eyebrow to the corner of his mouth while protecting The Hantei. As the wound healed, it contracted the skin of his face leaving him with a permanent half-grin. A constant reminder, for him and anyone else, of his loyalty to The Emerald Throne.

Lately, tensions between his Clan, which he still led, and the Lion, and his duties as Emerald Champion have left him to rely more and more on his son, Hoturi, despite their relationship not being the best. But tonight he was faced with something he could not pass onto Hoturi, something that could increase the tension between the aforementioned Clans: Ichiro Akimoto, The Champion of the Badger Clan was slain. And the only witness was a boy who had not gone through gempukku: Bayushi Sugai, Bayushi Kachiko's nephew.

Just moments ago Sugai had given his testimony, claiming that one of Ichiro's retinue was an infiltrated ninja that had slain him and his yojimbos. "Fortunately, I was drawn to the sounds of battle, took a sword from one of the fallen, chased the traitor and killed him". With no other witnesses to counter his story and evidence of a ninja attack in the corpses The Emerald Champion praised Sugai for his actions although it may be clear to many in the room, Otaku Shiko included, that Sugai was not telling everything or was involved in the murder somehow. But Rokugani justice concerns itself with direct evidence an eyewitness accounts, not suspicion and deduction. So everyone stood quiet... Everyone but Otaku Shiko.

"You cannot leave yet, he IS the killer! You all know this to be truth!" Those had been Otaku Shiko's words to Doji stasume. The room was silent as a crypt. All eyes were locked onto Otaku Shiko. Only the hiss of The Emerald Champion's breath could be heard as he tried to contain his anger and decide the fate of the young and impetuous samurai-ko. Sugai, however broke the silence "You have insulted the honor of My Lady Kachiko and mine!! Such a stain can only be cleansed by your death."

Silence. Then a nod from the Emerald Champion and the duel was sanctioned.

Satsume left the room before it happened and left Bayushi Shoju, Akodo Toturi and Doji Hoturi as witness. Otaku Shiko and her companions were shocked when they saw students of the Kakita Iaiutsu school bring in beautiful katanas as they realized how serious this matter was.

Shiko was nervous. She wasn't expecting this. She was young, inexperienced, and she had made a terrible etiquette breach, but she meant no disrespect; at least not to Lady Kachiko anyways. But now she could barely grasp the severity of her mistake. Both Sugai and Shiko took the swords, stood in front of each other but only she bowed. Both took the dueling stance. Kitsu Mitsuko saw the flaw on Shiko's technique just an instant before the duelists drew their blades. Saugai bested his opponent with ease, but she did not die with a single stroke. Shiko fell to the floor with tears in her eyes as Sugai walked towards her and slowly raised his sword. With a swift motion he cut off her head.

He took a cloth from his pocket, cleaned his sword and respectfully gave it back to the students that brought it. He bowed to the witnesses and glared at Shiko's companions as he went out. The first witness to leave was Bayushi Shoju, Hoturi looked at Toturi for a moment and then they both stood up and left, leaving Shiko's companions shocked, and alone in the room.

The Copycat, Episode 02

Al clon... not so much.

The Copycat, Episode 01

The Copycat, Episode Zero

You got it.

Again: Anthem!!!!

Wow, long time no writing. Work's got me pretty busy but the real thing is that I've been tinkering with tumblr and G+ for a time now. Anyhow, I've already made an Anthem post here, but I'm making a new one because my elven nakama asked (more like commanded me) to make one; and I know just what to do.

Recently I shared a video on G+ and he liked it, it was about a live performance these guys made in 2005, it was the 20th Anniversary Tour. I'm gonna post some videos while talking about the band... you know, for educational purposes.

This is the 1st song of the show, Onslaught, from their album Eternal Warrior (2004). It show the current line up which is Shibata "Ski" Naoto on bass, Sakamoto Eizo on vocals, Shimizu Akio on guitar and Homma Hirotsugu on drums. After this song they played 9 other, and then they went out with a bang, as if the show was over... But wait.. the DVD cover said there was still other 17 songs to be played.

After a couple of minutes Shibata came out. Regretfully I cannot speak Japanese so I have no clue what he says, but I have a feeling he-s talking about the band and it beginnings... So he start calling people to the stage, who? Well the original members of the band. They played classic Anthem songs, the songs they used to play when that line up was active. For this "stage"of the show I-ve chosen to show you a song called Victim in Your Eyes, form the Tightrope album that came up in 1986. The line up for this song is  Shibata "Ski" Naoto on bass, Sakamoto Eizo on vocals, Fukuda Hiroya on guitar and Ohuchi "Mad" Takamasa on drums.

The original line up released 3 albums and, in 1988, Sakamoto left the band and went to pursue his own proyect: Animetal, a band every anime & tokusatsu fan should listen to. Anyhow, they got Morikawa Yukio to replace Sakamoto and thus in the tour at this time Sakamoto left the stage and Morikawa joined the band and played some other song of his "era" with Anthem. This is Hunting Time, from the Hunting Time album (1989)

In 1990 Anthem dealt with another departure. Fukuda left the band and Nakama "Shadow Walker" Hideaki joined. This guy is hilarious by the way. This next song is from the album No Smoke Without Fire (1990), one of my favourite songs: Shadow Walk.

Nakama left the band after recording just that one album and the search for a new guitarist began. Good thing these guys found Shimizu Akio, perhaps the best guitar player the band have had, technically speaking of course. They released just one album though, Domestic Booty in 1992 and after this they disbanded. "Final" line up: Shibata "Ski" Naoto on bass, Morikawa Yukio on vocals, Shimizu Akio on guitar and Ohuchi "Mad" Takamasa on drums. This song is called Venom Strike.

The band took a rather long hiatus and then, on 2000, they were joined by the legendary Graham Bonnet and released an album, with him on vocals, that featured all the classics sung in English. Great stuff. Unfortunately I have no knowledge of them ever being in a live show, so I'll just leave 2 songs here: Gypsy Ways and Blinded Pain.

In 2001 original singer Sakamoto Eizo rejoined the band and Ohuchi Takamasa was replaced with Homma Hirotsugu. These were the guys we watched in the first video, so I'm not gonna post any more stuff about them, but I will recommend that you listed to songs like: Eternal Warrior, Rescue You, The Sign, Immortal Bind, Freak Out, Running Blood, DIM and I better stop before I name all of them. To close this up I will post 2 more videos, why? Because they are awesome. After the show was done they came back out... all 8 members and played 2 more songs. Here they are. Do You Understand, from No Smoke Without Fire, and Wild Anthem, from their very first album: Anthem.

I hope you've enjoyed this. No go back to the top and play the videos again and/or go get the albums. It's the power of Metal that compels you!

Yesterday...

... I found out several tings.

1.- That movie will always rock no matter how many times I see it.
2.- I was right, we should have watched that.
3.- I'm more scared than what I thought.
4.- I'm not the only one who thinks you should shut the fuck up and listen.
5.- You rock harder that I thought.
6.- Honey was right.
7.- It's true that the things you regret the most it's what you didn't do.

Great Advice

I've written a couple of posts like this before, but this is named different for a reason.
There's this girl I met some time ago. She was always at one of my friend birthday parties or something like that. I never really got in touch with her or anything, but then, that same friend, brought her home one night to play RPGs with us and I got to know her better. Turns out that she is one of the most wonderful human beings I've ever met, and I grew very fond of her.

I have not seen her for a year now, I don't know why because it's not like we live in different towns or something, but last Xmast I was feeling really bad. One day (new year's eve I think) I came down from room made some 3 or 4 tweets because I really needed to let out some steam and she wrote like 5 minutes later. We had a talk and she gave me the best advice I've gotten in my life, she said "give yourself a break". I don't think she has any idea how much that meant to me, specially coming from her. I mean, she's not my closest friend, she's not the one I hang with all the time, but she seems to care more than most people that see me on a daily basis.

It's a bit ironic that me being so good with word find it so hard to talk about this kind of stuff face to face, or even on the phone. I guess I don't like being exposed much, but this right here is my way of saying thank you. Thank you for saving me from myself, because who knows what might have happened is you hadn't told me that. Thank you for being there Freckles.

That Pisses me Off, Part XIII

Hello children, it's been some time since I last wrote one of this post, but the thing is that I've been trying to live a more tolerant life. Well no, not more tolerant, but more "complain free". But there is this thing that's been bothering me for a while, and I've tried to leave it alone - believe me - but I can't hold it anymore. Twilight really really pisses me off.

Why?

Because Vampires monsters dammed by God to not see the light of the day, to draw nourishment only from blood and to live forever, to see the world change and not being able to really change themselves, to watch everything and everyone they love die and crumble to dust. These are the children of the night, but not emo or goth like, no no... Real spawns of darkness because, unlike emos and goths, they WERE cast out from the light! Vampires are the stuff of nightmare, like Dracula or Orlok (whom is pretty much Dracula himself) not EMPTY, PLASTIC, SPARKLY AND STUPID SEX SYMBOLS!!

nuff said.

Disappointment

I am disappointed at many things in life, but as Dross Rotzank said in his most recent video this is a generation where style is more valuable that actual worth, and that is what this post is about. People would rather see a movie with neat special effects than a good movie, let me set an example with 2 movies of the same trilogy: The Matrix.

In the first film we have an awesome sci-fi/action movie with a nice cast of characters, the action sequences are very good, direction was good, plot and theme were both deep and well written and on top of all that we have state of the art technology when it came to special effects. I'm talking about shit that was never seen before. Then you have Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions. At the time I enjoyed the movies, and I still do, but you have to take into consideration that of the elements mentioned before only the cast remains, and that is a case of debate because as the trilogy developed it drifted away from character development and went straight for the action sequences. And while I really enjoy one or two scenes, most of them are just plain tacky... like the fight of Neo vs a gazillion Smiths. And there a people that say that Revolutions and Reloaded are far better movies than the first. Why? Style is more valuable that actual worth.

This is true. I'm not making this up. I've been a target of this mediocre way of thinking that people assume more and more everyday. I've found myself bringing movies that are actual masterworks (not because I say so, but because people that know more about the art than I do, people that could appreciate a movie way better than what I can, people that went to school for that agree with me) to a friend's house and, when the time to select what movie should we watch, my options have been rejected EVERY TIME. I'd be ok with that if instead of watching a good movie we'd watch a GREAT movie... but no. Style over actual worth people, so they (not me, never me) went for Alvin and the Chipmunks.

You know what? I've been wrong about God all this time... That Alvin and the Chipmunks thing right there is proof of God's existence and the fact that he finds it really amusing to piss me off.

Style over actual worth people. That is why now we have bands that make crappy songs and it's ok as long as they look good, and it's not just in the music that I like, metal have the least problems I think. Look at pop or Hip Hop. Movies... Well, just take Terminator for example, 2 great movies (84 and 91) then that blasphemous piece of crap that came out in 2003 and, while I think it's a good movie, Terminator Salvation is nowhere near the first two. In these days a horror movie is about make a monster look as fake as a 3 dollar bill using a computer and then make it appear all of the sudden out of nowhere. Back in the day where actual worth was still valuable we had movies like The Shining, The Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby. You know that the condensed breath in the scenes where people is inside the little kid's room is real, right? They didn't have the technology to add it up using computers... THAT'S awesome, not some fake looking monsters like we see in Resident Evil.

What the fuck is wrong with brains? It's as if they're getting smaller every passing day. I'm not saying go to your local video store, rent all the copies of Alvin and the Chipmunks and burn them, no. If you like that movie cool! My favorite movie of all times is the Lion King (Scar, Mufasa, Timon and Pumba are 4 of THE best characters ever! And it's Hamlet for kids), but one thing is liking one movie and another thing is saying "Matrix Revolutions is the best of the trilogy", that's just style over actual worth.

If you are one of the rare people that think like me, there here are a couple of movies I recommend: Old Boy (2003 Korean film), The Crow (1994), Blade Runner (1982), Event Horizon (1997), Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994), Equilibrium (2002), Princes Mononoke (Original title: Mononoke-Hime, 1997 Japanese Animation), Spirited Away (Orinial title: Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi, 2001 Japanese animation), Akira (1988 Japanese animation) and Grave of the Fireflies (Orinial title: Hotaru no Haka, 1988 Japanse animation) to name a few.

Well, that's all for today. Hope you all like what I wrote, if you did please comment and if you didn't please leave your comment too. this is not a dictatorship and you're entitled to your opinion. Keep on rocking.

Annoying

I really dislike it when my mother makes someone else's deal HER deal. Lemme explain.

For those who don't know I suffer from allergies to the most common things. It's not a serious thing, but it can get ugly from time to time. One of the things that causes my allergies it's actually the damn AC, which works on the entire house. When I'm cold my nose just doesn't work, I start sneezing and and can't breathe well... It's shitty actually, sometimes I can't sleep at all.

So today I woke up at 4am or so with a damn allergy attack, I just couldn't sleep, so at about 5am I got up and went to make breakfast. My mom found me in the kitchen and asked me what was I doing up so early. I told her. She asked me why didn't I turn the AC off, like I said before, if I turn it off I'd be turning it off for everyone, not just for me and I have done so in the past; every time my father said "If you're cold don't turn the AC off or else I'll get hot". He even said that the time I had a fever and was really cold. I felt terrible, so I turned off, and that it's the kind of response I got.

Well me being, like we say here in my country, "un macho cavernario, legionario y polla gorda", which means more or less a pretty hardcore guy, I can take it. I endure silently. But when I told my mom that today she said "You're so annoying".... Me?! Why? You're the one that asked, I'm wasn't saying shit nor was I gonna say shit... My plan was to endure silently as usual but you poked your nose in the matter. If anyone's annoying YOU'RE IT, barging into other people business all the time, so fuck you.

Hey, here's a bit of advice; you don't like being annoyed? Then step off everyone's neck lady! And if you're not gonna step off then be silent when you get annoyed because you brought it upon yourself.

Bog Hag

You might not know this, but I'm into Role Playing Games.
It all began in 2001 when I went to a tournament to play for the first time. I ended up going to a place near home to play with this dude that taught me everything he knew. Some say I'm a better game master than him, I don't think so but that is not the point. The point is that there is one game in particular that I like to play: The Legend of the Five Rings. It's based on The Book of Five Ring by Miyamoto Musashi, and it has a feudal Japanese setting.
I've been running games of L5R for some 5 years, maybe 6, and there is this creature that I really like: the Bog Hag. This creature, this hag, lives in bogs and swamps, hence the name, and it makes Count Orlok looks like the most beautiful creature alive. "Why dude?", "Why do you like this Bog Hag so much" you ask? Because of what it does.

The Bog Hag kills it's prey and then very carefully removes the skin from the corpse. Why? So it can wear it. It then goes into human civilization "dressed" as it's prey. Let's say it kills a maid, it goes and serves the maid's master, then one night silently kills the master and wear his skin from then on. Later meets with it's second prey's Lord, a member of the samurai caste, and now it has a samurai skin and so on and so forth and next thing you know you have an impostor as the governor of a city. When you deal with a Bog Hag you can't trust anyone because you don't know for sure who the hag really is or whose skin it is wearing. You can run a very interesting game full of intrigue with an adversary like that.

As you all can see this is not useful information, this is not a complain, this is not the story of the time I used a Bog Hag on one of my games. Why am I telling you all this? I know one, oh yes I do.

I Can't Believe It

I just posted how I wanted this year to be different from the last one, but it is too much to ask apparently.
First day of the year and I already got pissed, first day of the year and the lack of respect in this fucking house has managed it's most fucked up maneuver yet! Why? Why does it has to be like this? Why? What have I done wrong? I don't expect to be swimming in a pool of money with girls begging to be with me and the world at my feet, I just want to be left alone. That's it, plain and simple. But it would seem that it is too much to ask to be respected, it's too much too ask to be taken into consideration, it is too much to ask to be treated right and fairly; because if destiny is already written the the one that took care of mine wrote it with one hand and with the other he masturbated furiously while thinking about dead babies!!
Well if you're not gonna respect me then you will fear me, if you're not gonna take me into consideration then to me you're shit and if you're not gonna treat me right and fairly then I will treat you exactly for what you are: SHIT!!!

New Year

2010 literally sucked for me, there is not one single good thing to talk about. Not one!
I just hope 2011 be a very awesome year for everybody, full of nice beautiful moments and accomplished goals. For me? I just want 2011 to go easy on me, I don't ask for much.

Truly yours:

On the noon before Xmast...

Recently I've had a lot of complains about me, well more than complains they're like comments headed my way. The thing is that with Christmas coming they are getting more frequently. Why? Because people asks why I don't celebrate Christmas when the answer should be obvious. It is a Christian celebration and I do not count myself as a Christian. It's ok that they ask stuff, I'm pretty curious myself but them problem is they start a mess every time I say I'm not a Christian. I mean, it's not a crime not to be one, why can you accept that people CAN think differently?
I think differently, I dislike that religion and pretty much every other religion that there is. I do not dislike faith, mankind needs to believe in something to go on, but since it is very profitable, or has been very profitable over the course of history, this or that guy have changed religions... They made them into churches, and that is what I'm against: institutions!

And what have the Christian Church done to piss me off? I'll tell you; or better yet, I'll ask you
  1. How many died by the sword on the crusades, killing AND dying in the name of God?
  2. How many mothers and babies were burnt in the stake just because the kid was born with a deformity and were BOTH considered possessed by demons?
  3. How many "witches" were burnt? How many were tortured to death during the inquisition?! Remember the "Maellus Maleficarum"?
  4. Remember just how many died in Jerusalem during the 1st crusade? By early June 1099 Jerusalem’s population had declined from 70,000 to less than 30,000.
  5. Was it not the Church, under the lead of Leo the Great, that purged the Priscillianists?
  6. Who wrote "Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord"? I'll answer this one: it was Hitler (Mein Kampf Volume 1, Chapter 2)

So you say "Well that's in the past! The Church doesn't do that anymore!", and I say it's because the people OPENED THEIR DAMN EYES!!! Because The Church still has absurd and outdated tendencies and ideals. We still get mobs of simple minded people, only the signs now read "God Hate Fags" instead of "God Hate Witches" and deny science! But mankind have grown up, and they realized that giving so much power to these people is wrong and now we have presidents and governors and stuff SEPARATED from The Church; although the politics in my country are as bad as those guys from the Inquisition.... Literally.

But I said "pretty much every other religion that there is", so let's talk a little about that:
- Rabbi Yitzchak Ginzburg is know for:
  1. Having offered biblical justification for the view that the spilling of non-Jewish blood was a lesser offense than the spilling of Jewish blood. "Any trial based on the assumption that Jews and goyim are equal is a total travesty of justice", he said
  2. In his writings, Ginzburg gives prominence to Halachic and kabbalistic approaches that emphasize the distinction between Jew and non-Jew (Gentile), imposing a clear separation and hierarchy in this respect. He claims that while the Jews are the Chosen People and were created in God's image, the Gentiles do not have this status.... Ginzburg stated that, on the theoretical level, if a Jew requires a liver transplant to survive, it would be permissible to seize a Gentile and take their liver forcefully. From this point only a small further step is required to actively encourage and support the killing of non-Jews, as Ginzburg did in the case of Goldstein.
- Rabbi Ovadia Yosef is know for:
  1. Following Huricane Katrina: "There was a tsunami and there are terrible natural disasters, because there isn’t enough Torah study... Black people reside there [New Orleans]. Blacks will study the Torah? [God said], Let’s bring a tsunami and drown them... Hundreds of thousands remained homeless. Tens of thousands have been killed. All of this because they have no God... Bush was behind the [expulsion of] Gush Katif, he encouraged Sharon to expel Gush Katif... We had 15,000 people expelled here [in Israel], and there [in America] 150,000 [were expelled]. It was God’s retribution... God does not short-change anyone."
  2. In an October 2010 sermon, Yosef stated that "The sole purpose of non-Jews is to serve Jews". He said that Gentiles served a divine purpose: "Why are Gentiles needed? They will work, they will plow, they will reap. We will sit like an effendi and eat. That is why Gentiles were created." "Gentiles were born only to serve us. Without that, they have no place in the world – only to serve the People of Israel.
- And as for the Musulims:
  1. The Koran say: "And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush.". It also say not to take friends those that "have received the scriptures before you", meaning Christians and Jews. Then you wonder where religious people get their radical and intolerant ideas.
  2. July 19 2005, Mashad (Iran). Two dudes were publicly executed. They were being charged of being homosexuals. They were 17 and 19 years old.
  3. And don't get me started on the Islamic laws.
So that's it for the three mayor religions in the world. I'm not gonna go into everyone because they're just so many! Recently I found out about the Pastafarianism and their Flying Spaghetti Monster.

So people I leave this here. some sort of manual that will help you understand why I am not a Christian, why I don't celebrate Christmas. I'm not a Christian, not because I am driven by the devil, or the gods of Heavy Metal command me... No, it is a personal choice, a choice that one can make if one so chooses! And you know what? I used to be a Christian, I am baptized and all! Why did I change? Here's some huge irony... You believe in God, God gave us free will, then why can't I fucking choose to not like God? If he doesn't like it, that's his problem! If he wanted ALL of us to follow him, then why did he gave us free will?
Do not let yourself be deceived by religion people. If you want to believe, go ahead, I'm not saying it's wrong, but if you indeed have free will then stop behaving a certain way just because a guy in a throne or some book tell you to. Do things because you want to, because you think it's right. Don't cheat on your wife/husband, not because the bible says but because it is just fucking wrong and that's it. If you like religions fine, I just ask one thing: Leave me and my believes alone!

The Bad Guy?

Let's play a game, it's called "The Bad Guy". I'll ask some questions and you'll get points if you get the right answers.
Since there's no price I think we'll be playing just for fun. Here goes.

First one:
The other day some friends and I got together to play RPGs, but turns out that half the people didn't come, so the half that DID come and I just sat down and talk over a few beers. I had wine.
Around midnight we got hungry, and since one of my friends is a chef he cooked Thai food for dinner. Since my mom is a freak when it comes to tidiness and stuff (she sometimes acts like Monica from "friends"), we cleaned up our shit but we didn't placed all the pots and pans in place, but we DID dried them.

The other day my brother brought friends home. At about 5am he had woken up everyone in the house, we got a call from security had called saying that several neighbors had complained about the loud music that was playing. When they finally left the house it was a fucking mess (bottles, garbage, puke in the bathrooms and stuff like that), and my brother, being drunk, just went to bed.

Out of this two scenarios, who do you think got yelled at? If you said ME then you're right. According to my parents I was supposed to place the pots and pans in the drawers.

Another one:
The other day (actually the week after) I got together and this time everyone came. After we were done playing I got in my car and went to grab a bite to eat with some of the people that were home and then I went to a friend's house. He just graduated and I wanted to congratulate him and there's this friends from out of town that was also there. I got home, I don't know, at about 4am maybe? When I got home I took my time to clean up the mess we left when we were playing earlier that day. Every thing in it's place, I cleaned the table, put every ornament/decoration (my mom puts a lot of those in xmast) back where it was and finally I went to bed. I forgot to bring my RPG book and dice with me.

Where we live (the 3th world) we don't get water everyday but every other day if we're lucky. So everyone builds a tank to store water, we have one of those, the thing is, remember when I said that we got water every other day if we're lucky? Well I was talking about the town in general, because in my house it NEVER comes. We have to buy it from people that drive trucks filled with it. Right now, to fill up our tank we pay 200Bs (that's about 50 American dollars) and we have to do it twice a week. So the other day my brother decided to get one of those kiddie pools and fill it up so he could have a sexy night with a lady friend. He wasted half our tank and wouldn't let anyone sleep with the noise and on top of that his girlfriend (Yes, he was cheating on her) kept calling the house.

Guess who got yelled at this time? If you said my brother, then you're wrong. I was supposed to take the book and dice to my room with me.

So my fellow bloggers, I think you got the picture already. If not, allow me to explain.
I opened this blog a long time ago because I needed to complain, I needed to let out some steam. Call me an angry person (who isn't), call me a guy with issues (who is free of those?), call me what you want (exceptions: chavista, reggeatonero, emo, Christian, communist and lier) but the truth is: I NEED TO COMPLAIN. That is who I am, I see something wrong and I complain about it, and if you take the time to check my blog you'll see that I not only complain about my brother or about things that happen to me; I complain about everything I see that I don't like, and this post is a way of pushing a "re-start" button for the blog, because I've kept it in oblivion far too long. I hope you enjoy this. Good fight, good night.

PD: I see that I have new followers, and that I have a comment from someone I don't know! That is a first for this blog. I want to thank you all even if you don't come back again, just for taking your time to read at least one entry; and if you DO come back, well, like I said, I'll try and keep things running from now on.

Decisions

I have been forced to make a decision that I don't want to take. I'm gonna have to ask something of my father. I don't want to have to feel like I owe him anything.

But I don't care. I have to not care. I have to... I must learn not to

Questions

A long time ago I made myself a question, and that question was: Why do I even bother?

You see, I've lived all my life with a simple but strict code of conduct. I've tried to be the better man, always... Where has that led me? Well... Someone please answer. It wasn't a rhetorical question, I was actually asking you.
Back then the world was a very different place for me, I had RPGs, music, nakamas, rage, a jar of paint and crimson red lips. Back then I thought myself the better man. Recently I've been led to believe that perhaps I was mistaken. I've given out so much, to my friends, to my family, to people I don't even know; and what have I gotten in return? I have endured, sometimes silently, other rather loudly, so much, just for the sake of living in peace, and for what? I have tried to be a decent man in an indecent world and I have accomplished nothing. I have tried to be a pleasant man, and I have learned that the only way to life this life is the pirate way: take all what you can, give nothing back.

Back then I had an answer for my question... Today I have shit.
Why do I even bother? Why should I even try? I can't think of anything. Things have changed, they're not what they used to be, but that's not what bothers me. What bothers me, what fills me with emptiness, is the fact that there is nothing left for me; so why bother? I bet it all, I went all in, and I lost. I was wrong. I was living a dream. Sucks.

Interesting Times - Chapter 5: The Missing Piece

Iuchi Li-Hsu was an impish, skinny and wild looking young lady, who refuses to wear fancy women's kimonos and rather go around with bared arms. Thus she was considered a barbarian, something the members of the Unicorn Clan were all used to, but, to her dishonor, she was now and then confused with a prostitute by those without the knowledge of heraldry and samurai insignia.

She rode her gaijin steed a fast as she could, only stopping to rest when absolutely necessary, galloping hard to reach the Ojatara Valleys to meet with Isawa Hideyori, another member of her team of Magistrates. But also in Ojatara waited Shosuro Naoko, her half-sister and the only person in the world whose approval Li-Hsu desired. She needed to get to her destination as fast as possible, the information she carried with her was of the direst importance to Hideyori, her sister and everyone else in her team.

About a week ago she had met with Isawa Hideyori in Kyden Ashinagabachi. He has requested of her, to go to Kyuden Hida and meet with certain people and ask about a young Phoenix woman called Asako Shiori. Shiori, and a Scorpion named Bayushi Bijomaru, had met with someone there, and just weeks later Bijomaru had gone missing and just recently Shiori had killed herself with taint in her veins. Li-Hsu was determined to find out what had happened... What she found was a secret kept by the Kuni Witch Hunters for half a decade.
50 years ago Kyuden Hida had been plagued by deceit, politics and passionate revenge when, in winter court, it suffered an attack by Doji Nashiko, The Demon Bride of Fu-Leng, an enemy far more cunning, evil and just immensely powerful than anything Kyuden Hida had faced before.

She was stopped, however, by brave samurai that gave their own lives to protect Rokugan. And what was the price paid? Hida Kisada himself demanded that the named of those heroes be struck from history, so that future generation never knew of what had happened in winter court. Their bodies were cremated and put to rest in a secret tomb not far from Kyden Hida...
Now, after 50 years, someone had found and defiled that tomb and left a message written in blood on the walls... As soon as she read that, she ran to the cave entrance, got on her horse and rushed to The Castle of the Emerald Champion.
She had to warn her team.
She had to warn her half-sister.

Interesting Times - Chapter 4: Revelations II

3 weeks have passed since Asako Shiori had the vision in which she killed Bayushi Bijomaru.

Moto Yoshihiro, an expert horse rider from the Unicorn Clan, was now 27 years old, ten years older than what he was when he participated in the Tournament of The Topaz Champion. He was sent to Kyuden Ashinagabachi, the palace of the Tsuruchi family of the Mantis Clan. The finest archers in all of Rokugan and some of the best magistrates were trained in this lands; his orders came from his superior, Doji Himeko, and it was a simple task: Gather Isawa Hideyori, a powerful shugenja of the Phoenix Clan who had recently joined the ranks of the Asako Inquisitors, and Shiba Shinamori, his Yojimbo, and return to the castle of the Emerald Champion with them.
Yoshihiro met the people he was sent to gather at the aforementioned Tournament where they also met Bayushi Bijomaru and other individuals with whom they had work in the past 10 years.

Moto Yoshihiro met with Isawa Hideyori, not in his residence, but in the residence of another contestant from 10 years ago, Tsuruchi Kanjiro. However, Yoshihiro didn't just come inside a residence, it was a crime scene. He found Isawa wounded but alive, unlike Shiba Shinamori - he had been thrown like a thing in the floor.

Shinamori had his chest pierced by two arrows and had wounds that seem made by a clawed beast while Hideyori, whose arm was cut deep, was giving orders to a male servant.
"Isawa-san, what have happened here?". The answer was simple "Go into next room, Moto-san, and you will see"
He did as he was told. When he walk into what was an ordinary room like any other in Rokugan he saw the body of a man, sitting in the floor with his back against a wall, his left hand a bit disfigured as his fingers did not end in nails but in black claws... the man was most burnt and a wakizashi had been trusted into his chest. From the wound blood as black as night still poured down.

In awe Yoshihiro turned to his friend "What is this? Seem like this room belongs not here but in Jigoku! Who is that man lying there?"
"That my friend..." said Hideyori " ...would be Tsuruchi Kanjiro, you remember him right? Doji-Sama sent me here to track down a rumor about workers of Maho, turns out that our old friend was it. When Shiba-San and I confronted him he fought, he killed my yojimbo and he nearly kills me. I pinned him down with my wakizashi, which was all that kept me free from taint, and then burned him where he stood. I've healed myself and I've already made arrangements to have him and Shiba-san cremated before sunset".
"This is madness, I knew this man, I would have never suspected that he worked maho".
The shugenja smiled and said "You're a bushi friend, a good one, and a good samurai too, but some busyness are better left in the hands of other people" "Meaning?" Said Yoshihiro
"Meaning, friend, that you clearly outmatch my skill with the sword, but when it comes to gathering info... I have a little help from the kami".

There was silence for a moment.

Then the Phoenix spoke "There was another death, besides Shiba-san and Tsuruchi Kanjiro, another one of my clan died. Asako Shiori, remember her?"
The eyes of Yoshihiro widened "Yes, she was barely 20 winters"
"She was also an Inquisitor, it appears that she got the taint from Tsuruchi Kanjoro. She took her own life this morning, yet her body looks as if it had been decomposing for weeks. What foul things can the taint cause on a human body".
The horseman came close to the Phoenix "It is most unfortunate, Isawa-San, however we must return at once to the castle of The Emerald Champion, Doji Himeko-Sama has sent me to summon you... It's a shame that Shiba-San wont be joining us".
The shugenja looked in the eyes of the one sent to summon him, that look made Yoshihiro uncomfortable
"Is there something wrong, Isawa-San" "Tsuruchi Kanjiro said something that puzzles me, he didn't called me or Shiba-San by our names" "What do you mean" Asked the Unicorn.
"He called us Isawa Hoken and Matsu Kei"
"The ravings of a madman perhaps?"

"Perhaps, but I shall look into it later"
